Biography

First Generation

Mary Sturtevant was born Plymouth 7 Dec 1651 and died Scituate 10 Feb 1717/8. She married Scituate 22 Nov 1672 Ephraim Little and they had nine children (born Marshfield): Anna (1673), infant (c. 1675), Ephraim (1676 m. Sarah Clark but no ch.), Mercy (1678), David (1680/1), John (1682/3), Mary (1685-1685), Ruth (1686) and Barnabas (1691/2-1691/2).

Second Generation

Anna Little was born Marshfield 23 Aug 1673 and died Little Compton (now in RI) 16 Oct 1706. She married Boston 3 Jul 1694 (Capt.) Thomas Gray] and they had seven children (Little Compton): Ephraim (1695), Thomas (1695), Edward (1699), Mary (1701-1733 unm.), Anna (1702), Rebecca (1704) and Mary (1706-1708).

Mercy Little was born Marshfield 26 Feb 1678 and died Scituate in 1755. She married RI 1 Oct 1699 Job Otis and they had ten children: Mercy (1700), Job (1702), Abigail (1703), Mary (1705), Ephraim (1708), Ruth (1712), Sarah (1714-1715), David (1716), Sarah (1719) and Priscilla (1721 unm.).

Ruth Little was born Marshfield 23 Nov 1686 and died Truro 1 Oct 1732. She married Truro 28 Nov 1710 John Avery and they had ten children (Truro): John (1711), Ephraim (1713), Ruth (1715), Elizabeth (1717), Robert (1719), Job (1720-1722), Job (1723), Mary (1725), Abigail (1727) and Anna (1729).

Third Generation

Anna Gray was born Little Compton (now in RI) 29 Jan 1702 and died Bristol RI 9 Oct 1762. She married Newport bef 8 Jul 1720 William Richmond and they had eleven children: Barzilla (1721), Ephraim (1723), Elizabeth (1725 m Jonathan Brownell), William (1727), Perez (1729), Ichabod (1731), Thomas (1733), Mary (1735 m George Ware & Thomas Church), Sarah (1738 m David Walker), Sylvester (1740) and Abigail (1744 m Peter Pitts).

Rebecca Gray was born Little Compton (now in RI) 1 Aug 1704 and died aft 23 Oct 1772. She married Little Compton 7 Feb 1722/3 (Dea.) John Pabodie/Pabody and they had twelve children (surname Paybody, born Little Compton): Elizabeth (1723), Antrace (1726-1726), Anna (1728-1728), Judith (1730), Mary (1731/2-1732), John (1732/3), Abigail (1734/5), Ephraim (1736), Sarah (1738), Mercy (1740), Comfort (dau 1744) and Ruth (1746).

Mercy Otis was born Scituate 12 Dec 1700 and died there 15 Jan 1761. She married Scituate 5 Nov 1724 John Clapp and they had nine children: Samuel (1725), George (1726), John (1728-1728), Ruth (1729), Rachel (1730/1 m Jeremiah Liscom), John (1734), Isaac (1736-1739), Mercy (1740) and Constant (son, 1743)

Abigail Otis was born Scituate 28 Aug 1703 and died Nova Scotia 30 Nov 1792. She married twice, first Scituate 22 Feb 1730 Andrew Haliburton then Narragansett, RI 18 Oct 1756 Edward Ellis. By her first husband she had six children: Andrew (c1731), Abigail (c1733), Isabella (bp 1736), Priscilla (bp 1738), William (1739) and George (bp 1743).

Mary Otis was born Scituate 26 Nov 1705 and died Boston bef 13 Jan 1742. She married twice, first Scituate 9 Sep 1725 Joseph Hinckley (II) then Boston 8 Oct 1739 Caleb Phillips. By her first husband she had one child: Joseph (1738).

Ruth Otis was born Scituate 13 Mar 1711/2 and died there 5 Jan 1745. She married Scituate 3 Jun 1731 Benjamin Stockbridge and they had eight children: Benjamin (1731/2-1736), Ruth (1733 m ____ Cushing), Charles (1734/5), Mercy (1736), Elizabeth (1737/8 m [Dr] Isaac Winslow), Polly (1740-1741), Benjamin (1742-1744) and Benjamin (1744-1744).

Sarah Otis was born Scituate 16 Apr 1719 and died Hanover 22 Apr 1796. She married Scituate 30 Sep 1740 Mordecai Ellis and they had ten children: Rebecca (1741 m George Bailey), Sarah (1742-1803 unm.), David (1744), Mordecai (1746), Lucy (1748), Priscilla (1750 m John Little), Elizabeth (1752 m Joseph Ramsdell), Clark (1754), Nathaniel (1756) and Otis (1762).

Ruth Avery was born Truro 26 Jul 1715 and died Plympton 17 May 1745. She married Plympton 6 Sep 1733 Jonathan Parker and they had five children: Ruth (1734 m John Bishop), Jonathan (1736), John Avery (1738-1740), Elizabeth (1741-1743) and Avery (1743).

Elizabeth Avery was born Truro 5 Mar 1717 and died aft 10 Sep 1762. She married Boston aft 27 Oct 1737 John Draper and they had one child: Richard.

Mary Avery was born Truro 19 Jan 1724/5 and died bef 12 Jul 1759. She married Boston 7 Nov 1746 Sanderson West and they had four children who all died young.

Abigail Avery was born Truro 1 Jun 1727 and died Norwich CT 9 Jul 1788. She married Pomfret CT 28 May 745 Elisha Lothrop, Esq. and they had six children: Elisha (1745), Deborah (1747), Anna (1749 m Ezra Bishop), Mary (1755) and Septimeus (1757).
