Biography

First Generation

John Richmond was probably born in Amesbury, Wiltshire, England in 1597. He died Taunton 20 Mar 1664. His wife is currently unknown and they had five children: Edward, John, Sarah, Mary & Amy.

Second Generation

(Capt.) Edward Richmond was born in Ashton Keynes about 1632 and died at Little Compton (now part of Rhode Island) in Nov 1696. He married twice, first Abigail Davis & second Amy Bull. He had eight children by his first wife: Abigail, Edward, John, Elizabeth, Mary, Esther, Silvester and Sarah. By his second wife he had two more children: Henry & Ann.

John Richmond (II) was born in Ashton Keynes about 1637 and died Taunton 7 Oct 1715. He married Taunton by 1663 Abigail Rogers. They had seven children (born Taunton): Joseph, Edward, Samuel, Sarah, John, Ebenezer & Abigail.

Third Generation

(Col.) Silvester Richmond was born Little Compton in 1672 and died at Dartmouth 20 Nov 1754. He married twice, first to Elizabeth Rogers then to Deborah Cushing. He had eleven children (believed all by first wife): William, Elizabeth, Sylvester, Peleg, Perez, Ichabod, Ruth & Hannah, Sarah, Mary & Rogers.

(Lt.) Joseph Richmond was born Taunton 8 Dec 1663 and died there before 8 Dec 1735. He married there 26 Jun 1685 Mary Andrews and they had nine children: Joseph, Christopher, Henry, John, Abigail, Mary, William, Josiah & Margaret.

Edward Richmond was born Taunton 8 Feb 1665/6 and died there before 9 Dec 1741. He married Mary _____ and they had ten children: Mercy, Edward, Josiah, Nathaniel, Seth, Elizabeth, Phebe, Sarah, Mary & Priscilla

Samuel Richmond was born Taunton 23 Sep 1668 and died there before 20 Jul 1736. He married twice, first at Taunton 20 Dec 1694 Mehitable Andrews, and second after 17 Jun 1708 Elizabeth King. He had five children by his first wife: Samuel, Oliver, Thomas, Hannah & Lydia. He had two more children by his second wife: Silas & Mehitable.

John Richmond (III) was born Taunton 5 Dec 1673 and died bef 24 Jun 1760. He married at Scituate 28 Nov 1709 to Hannah Otis and they had three children: John, Mary & Stephen

Ebenezer Richmond was born Newport, RI 12 May 1676 and died at Middleborough before 12 May 1729. He married before 1701 Anna Sproat and they had six children: Ebenezer, Robert, Anna, Rachel, Elizabeth & Sylvester.
