Previous Y-DNA testing

The Blackwell DNA Project Group: J2b has two individuals claiming Michael Blackwell (father of John) as their Most Distant Known Paternal Ancestor (MDKPA). Neither have done Y-SNP testing but one has done 67 Y-STR testing. FTDNA predicts they fall under the J2b Haplogroup M102. Plugging in the modal 67 Y-STRs into the NevGen Haplogroup Predictor Tool gives a variety of subclaces below J2b-M172>M102>Z529>Z1827>Z593>M241>L283>Z622>Z600>Z585>Z615>Z597>Z2507>CTS3617, with a 95.4% probability with the other 4.6% being an unsupported clade.

Further needed testing

We need additional direct male-line descendants of Michael Blackwell to WGS/NGS test to confirm and further refine the haplogroup/clade prediction for the family.
