First Generation
Edward Gray was born, presumably in England, about 1629 and died "last of June 1681" "aged about 52 years"[1] He is said to have emigrated to New England with his brother Thomas in 1642 aboard the Recovery of London (which was supposedly owned by his uncle Alexander Graie), but full confirmation of this information is lacking. He was married twice, first 16 Jan 1651 to Mary Winslow (died 1663) and second, 12 Dec 1665 to Dorothy Lettice. The children by his second marriage are not descended from any Mayflower passenger. Edward had five children by his first marriage; four daughters and son John.
Second Generation
John Gray was born Plymouth 1 Oct 1661 and died Kingston 29 May 1732. He married 9 Dec 1686 Joanna Morton. They had seven children; five daughters & sons Edward (died young) and Samuel
(Capt.) Thomas Gray (by Edward's second wife) was born Plymouth abt 1669 and died Little Compton (now in RI) 3 Nov 1721. He married twice (Phebe Peckham & Anna Little). By his second wife he had Edward
Third Generation
Samuel Gray was born at Plymouth 23 Dec 1701/2 {sic} and likely was the Samuel Gray who died in Oct 1738. He married Duxbury 7 Dec 1727 to Patience Wadsworth. They had six children; four daughters and two sons: John (1729 unk. if marr.) and Samuel (1736 m Eunice Delano).
Edward Gray was born Little Compton (now in RI) 29 Nov 1699 and died there 10 Sep 1758. He married Little Compton 9 May 1716 Elizabeth Pabodie and they had seven daughters and three sons: Thomas (1722-1723), Edward (1728 m Mary Hugo) and Robert (1742 m Elizabeth _____).
