Previous Y-DNA testing

The Wood/Woods Y-DNA Project Group 13 currently has nine individuals, all close STR matches to each other, with four claiming Henry Wood as their ancestor. FTDNA predicts the family falls under R1b-M269. Plugging in the modal values for the 111 STR markers into the NEVGEN Haplogroup Predictor tool fails to list any clade with any probability. STR marker DYS492=13 is a very strong indicator (>95%) of the family falling under R1b-U106.

NGS/WGS Testing

At least two individuals have apparently done a Big Y test and has been found to fall under R-P312>ZZ11>DF27>Z195>Z198>CTS4188>S14445>Z29704>BY3268>BY139899>BY165849>FT36574 with one under a subclade of FT36574>FT36212.

Further needed testing

We would need Y-DNA descendants of Henry Wood to take NGS/WGS tests to pin down the haplogroup, as well as possibly define subclades for various branches of the family.
