- NGS/WGS test multiple descendants of Michael Blackwell (and preferably of his son John) to place the family clade as well as test descendants to discover any subclades unique to descendants lines

Previous Y-DNA testing
The Blackwell DNA Project Group: J2b has two individuals claiming Michael Blackwell (father of John) as their Most Distant Known Paternal Ancestor (MDKPA). Neither have done Y-SNP testing but one has done 67 Y-STR testing. FTDNA predicts they fall under the J2b Haplogroup M102. Plugging in the 67 Y-STRs into the NevGen Haplogroup Predictor Tool gives a variety of subclaces below J2b-M172>M102>Z529>Z1827>Z593>M241>L283>Z622>Z600>Z585>Z615>Z597>Z2507, but also gives a 61.4% chance of it falling under an "unsupported clade".
Further needed testing
We need additional direct male-line descendants of Michael Blackwell to WGS/NGS test to confirm and further refine the haplogroup/clade prediction for the family.
