First Generation

John Holmes was baptized at St. James, Colchester, 22 Feb 1603, son of Thomas Holmes[1] and died prob. in England after 3 Jun 1652.[2] He married Sarah ____ and they had:[3] Thomas (bp 1628 rem. in Eng.), John (c1636) and Nathaniel (c1643).

Second Generation

John Holmes (II) was born Plymouth abt 1636 and died there "last of" Jul 1697. He married twice, first Plymouth 20 Nov 1661. Patience Faunce then abt 1681 Patience BONHAM, widow of George Willis (no ch.) By his first wife he had eleven children: John (1662/3), Ebenezer (1667), Joseph (c1671), Thomas (1673), Nathaniel (c1675), Desire (c1678), Richard (1682), Mehitable (c1683), Patience (1685), George (1690) and Sarah (c1690).

Nathaniel Holmes was born Plymouth abt 1643 and died there 25 Jul 1727. He married Plymouth 29 Dec 1667 Mercy Faunce and they had: Elisha (1670), Mercy (1673), Nathaniel (1676), Sarah (1680), John (1682), Elizabeth (1686) and Eleazer (1688).
