Biography

First Generation

Bathsheba Cary was born Bristol (now in RI) 14 Aug 1693, daughter of Daniel Cary and Elizabeth Brackett. Batsheba died Bristol 16 Aug 1775. She married about 1714 Joseph Howland and they had three children (Bristol): Lydia (1715), Joseph (1717) and Elizabeth (1719/20).

Second Generation

Lydia Howland was born Bristol (now in RI) 6 Nov 1715 and died after 17 Jul 1771. She married Newport, RI 22 Jun 1747 (Capt.) Edward Belcher and they had one child: Benjamin (bp 1751).

Elizabeth Howland was born Bristol (now in RI) 14 Feb 1719/20. She married Newport, RI 3 Nov 1742 Constant Taber and they had: Constant (son, 1741), poss. two more sons (bef 1747 census) and Elizabeth.

Previous mtDNA testing

To date, no known direct female line descendants of Bathsheba CARY Howland are known to have done mtDNA testing and published their results. Anyone who believes they descend in a direct female line (ie mother's mother's mother's etc mother) is encouraged to contact MayflowerDNA1620@gmail.com
