First Generation

Tobias Oakman, son of Samuel Oakman and Mary Boaden, was born Scarborough, ME abt 1664 and died Marshfield 16 Jun 1750. He married Plymouth bef. 3 Dec 1696 Elizabeth Doty and they had eight children (Marshfield): Faith (1697), Samuel (1698/9), Elizabeth (1701), Sarah (1703), Susannah (1705/6), Mary (1707), Mercy (c1710) and Edward (1716).

Second Generation

Samuel Oakman was born Marshfield 15 Mar 1698/9 and died there 21 Nov 1739. He married Scituate 6 Jan 1725 Elizabeth Hatch and they had four children: Samuel (1727), Tobias (1729), Israel and Elizabeth

Edward Oakman was born Marshfield 28 Oct 1716 and died there 28 May 1791. He married Sarah Doggett and they had at least six children: Bethiah (1739), Sarah (1741), Samuel (c1745), Tobias (1751), Abiah (dau) and Amos.

Third Generation

Samuel Oakman (II) was born Marshfield 4 Aug 1727 and died Scituate 17 Jul 1791. He married Scituate 9 Jun 1748 Deborah Turner and they had eight children (Marshfield):

Tobias Oakman was born Marshfield 12 May 1729 and died there 27 Jun 1818. He married Marshfield abt 1748 Ruth Little and they had seven children (Marshfield):

The Oakman DNA project currently does not list anyone claiming Samuel Oakman (father of Tobias) as their Most Distant Known Patrilineal Ancestor (MDKPA).

Further DNA testing needed

Testing of patrilineal descendants is needed. Any male who believes their patrilineal ancestry goes through Samuel Oakman (and preferably through son Tobias) is encouraged to contact MayflowerDNA1620@gmail.com
