  • Identify whether any surviving patrilineal (Y-DNA) descendants of Richard Middlecott. Given the fact there is only a single male Middlecott named in the last (sixth) generation in the Chilton "Silver Book" it is likely there is no surviving patrilineal line.

First Generation

Richard Middlecott is said to have been born in Wiltshire, England about 1640 and died Boston 13 Jun 1704. It is currently unknown the date and circumstances of his emigration to New England. He married presumably at Boaton about 1672 the twice widowed Sarah WINSLOW Standish Payne and they had four children (Boston): Mary (1674), Edward (1676), Sarah (1678) and Jane (1682).

Second Generation

Edward Middlecott died in Warminster, Wiltshire, England before 17 Mar 1728, when his son Edward was appointed administrator of his estate.

Third Generation

Edward Middlecott (II) was born Warminster, Wiltshire, England bef 1708 and was living there 17 Mar 1728. He married at Bishopstrow, England 15 Jun 1727 to Elizabeth Temple. They had at least one son, Edward (III) born in 1728 (no further record).

As of February 24, 2023 Family Tree DNA does not have any kits associated with the Middlecott surname.

Need to discover if Richard Middlecott still has living Y-DNA descendants
