First Generation

Joanna Shove was born Taunton 28 Sep 1678, daughter of (Rev.) George Shove and his second wife, Hannah BATON Walley. Joanna died Barnstable bef. Jun 1719 (widow remarried). She married Barnstable 1704 John Howland (III) and they had four children (Barnstable): George (1705), Hannah (1708), Mary (1711-1748 unm.) and Joanna (1715).

Second Generation

Hannah Howland was born Barnstable 2 Feb 1708. She married Barnstable 28 Dec 1712 John Allen and they had two children (Hingham): Shove (1737) and John (1734/5).

Joanna Howland was born Barnstable 8 Jan 1715. She married Barnstable 12 Jan 1715 (Mr.) James Lewes. No further record found.

To date, we know of no matrilineal (all female line) descendants of Joanna SHOVE Howland who has taken a mtDNA test (and publicly posted their results). Anyone who believes they are a matrilineal descendant (ie mother's mother's mother's etc.) is encouraged to contact MayflowerDNA1620@gmail.com.
