Biography

First Generation

Robert Barker (II) was born abt 1651, son of Robert Barker & Lucy ?Williams? He died Duxbury 25 Sep 1729 ae 78. Robert married bef Dec 1681 Alice Snow and they had eight children (born Duxbury): Abigail (1682), James (1683/4), Caleb (1685), Deborah (1686), Luceanna (1689), Robert (1693 m Lydia Booth, likely no ch.), Alice (1695) and Lydia (1697).

Second Generation

James Barker was born Duxbury 1 Jan 1683/4 and died there 16 Jul 1718. He married Scituate 2 Oct 1710 Hannah ALLEN Wanton[1] and they had six children (recorded Abington): James (1711), Alice (1713), Daniel (1714), George (1716), Stephen (twin 1718 unm.) and Lydia (twin 1718).

Caleb Barker was born Duxbury 24 May 1685 and died prob. Pownalborough (now Wiscasset), ME 25 Aug 1772. He married Newport RI 18 Jan 1709 Anne Carr and they had nine children (all but first born Scituate): Robert (1712), John (1714), Elizabeth (1716/7-1724), Caleb (1719-1742 unm), Joshua (1721-1724), Gideon (1723), Joshua (1726), Charles (1729) and Ann (1730/2-2732/3).

Third Generation

  1. Hannah was the widow of Stephen Wanton. She married third Pembroke 31 Aug 1719 Isaac Barker and fourth Pembroke 8 Jun 1727 Jacob Norton.

Previous Y-DNA testing

The Barker DNA Project does not name the Ancestor, but using the internet archives wayback machine Warren family DNA Patriarchs the Barker DNA Project I Group 3 descends from John Barker, uncle to Robert Barker (II) and his Y-37 STR result was predicted to fall under I-M223.

Further needed testing

We need additional direct male-line descendants of Robert Barker (and preferably of his son Robert [II]) to WGS/NGS test to discover the haplogroup/clade for the family.
