First Generation
Esther Barnes was born Plymouth 18 Feb 1681/2, daughter of Jonathan Barnes and Elizabeth Hedge[1]. Esther died there 1 Nov 1770. She married twice, first Plymouth 23 Feb 1703 Elkanah Cushman (II), then 25 Oct 1716 Benjamin Warren. By her first husband she had four children (Plymouth): Elizabeth (1703), Elkanah (1706 m Lydia Bradford), James (1709 m _____) and Hannah (1713). By her second husband she had two more children: Joseph (1717) and Mercy (1721).
Second Generation
Elizabeth Cushman was born Plymouth 5 Dec 1703 and died there abt 24 Feb 1779. She married four times, first Plymouth 20 May 1725 Ichabod Delano, next Plymouth 9 Sep 1729 Seth Daggett/Doggett, then Plymouth 16 May 1737 Thomas Murdock, finally Plymouth 14 Jul 1755 Andrew Thomson. It is currently believed she had no children by any of her spouses.
Hannah Cushman was born Plymouth abt 1713 and died there 4 May 1767. She married Plymouth 17 Aug 1731 John Waterman and they had twelve children (Plymouth): Elkanah (1732/3), John (1735-1735/6), Elizabeth (1737), John (1739-1741), Hannah (1741/2), John (1744-1744), James (1745), Joseph (bp 1747), Esther (bp 1749 d.y.), Bethiah (bp 1751-1769 unm.), Samuel (1753) and Thomas (1754).
Mercy Warren was born Plymouth 15 May 1721 and died there 21 Mar 1798. She married 7 Jan 1762 Silas Bramhall and they had (Plymouth): Benjamin (1765)
Third Generation
Elizabeth Waterman was born Plymouth 15 Aug 1737 and died Yarmouth, Nova Scotia after 1776. She married Plymouth 9 Sep 1758 Joseph Bent and they had at least three children: Joseph (c1760), Elkanah (c1771) and James (c1776).
Hannah Waterman was born Plymouth 10 Mar 1741/2 and died Yarmouth, Nova Scotia aft 1784. She married Plympton 25 Feb 1761 Thomas Trask and they had twelve children: infant (1761-1763), John (1762), infant (1763-1765), Thomas (1764), infant (c1765-c1765), Elias (1773), Elizabeth (c1775), Mary (1775), Hannah (1777), James (1780), Elkanah (1782) and Rebecca (1784).
Conclusion
Esther had no surviving mtDNA line through Benjamin Warren. It is currently unknown whether there is any surviving matrilineal line through her first husband, Elkanah Cushman (II).
- ↑ Elizabeth was the daughter of William Hedge of Yarmouth. The name of her mother is currently Unknown.
