  • NGS/WGS test multiple descendants of Obadiah Wheeler to firmly place family clade as well as test descendants to discover any subclades unique to descendants lines

Biography

First Generation

Obadiah Wheeler (II) was born before 1651 in Concord, son of Obadiah Wheeler (I) & Susanna _______. He died aft 28 Mar 1712. He married at Concord 17 Jul 1672 Elizabeth White, daughter of Resolved White & Judith Vassall. They had eight children, one daughter and seven sons: Obadiah, Josiah, Uriah, Samuel, Jonathan, Joseph, Benjamin and Joshua.

Previous Y-DNA testing

The Wheeler DNA Project Subgroup: CA Group 6 lists nine individuals, most known Y-DNA descendants of Dominick Wheeler (born 1525). One of these individuals (kit #140139) descends from Obadiah Wheeler (II) & Elizabeth White. One individual in the subgroup Y-SNP tested I-M253>DF29>Z58>Z59>CTS8647>Z61> Z60>FT220000>A9271


Further needed testing

We need additional direct male-line descendants of Obadiah Wheeler (II) to WGS/NGS test to both confirm the lineage as well as to refine the haplogroup further and delineate descendant clades.
