Status summary

While Isaac, only son of Francis Walker is known to have married and had children (including sons), to date, no one has discovered any evidence of any of his sons having had families of their own.

Completed as of April 12, 2022:

  • Unknown if any surviving patrilineal (Y-DNA, direct male line) descendants of Francis Walker.
  • Recruiting direct male-line Francis Walker (and father, Joseph) descendants for SNP testing - anyone interested in submitting their DNA for testing should contact MayflowerDNA1620@gmail.com

Biography

First Generation

[1]Francis Walker was born about 1637, son of Joseph Walker and Hanna Moses. Francis died Middleborough in 1702. He married before 23 Jul 1668 Elizabeth Soule and they had one child: Isaac (c1667).

Second Generation

[2]Isaac Walker was born Plymouth about 1667 and died Woodbridge, NJ about 1719. He married Woodbridge 8 Jul 1692 Desire Shelley and they had at least three children:[1] Elias (1693), Isaac (c1695), and Desire (c1706).

Third Generation

[3]Isaac Walker was born Woodbridge, NJ about 1695 and died aft 23 May 1719. He married bef 23 May 1719 Deliverance Drew, but it is unknown whether they had any children.

  1. some sources give additional children: George c1698, Francis c1700, Samuel c1703 and a child born ca 1709 who likely died young.

Previous Y-DNA testing

The Walker DNA Project currently does no list anyone claiming Joseph Walker (father of Francis) as their Most Distant Known Patrilineal Ancestor (MDKPA).

Further needed testing

We need additional direct male-line descendants of Joseph Walker (father of Francis) to WGS/NGS test to define the haplogroup.
