Biography

First Generation

Mary Durrant was possibly born as early as 1580 and was likely from the Ufford, Suffolkshire, England area. It is likely she married William Ring "of Petistrey" at Ufford on 21 May 1601[1] The family moved to Leiden and possibly attempted to emigrate to the New World on the Speedwell but due to the unseaworthiness of the ship, ended up back at Leiden.[2] William Ring died in Leiden and the widow and her children presumably emigrated to New England aboard the Mayflower[3] in 1629. Mary died at Plymouth on either 15 or 19 Jul 1631.[4]

The children of Mary and William are: Elizabeth bp 23 Feb 1602/3 (likely died young), Elizabeth (say 1609), Susanna (say 1611) and Andrew (c1618).

Second Generation

Elizabeth Ring was likely born about 1609 and died Eastham bef. 3 May 1687.[5] She married twice, first abt 1627[6] to Stephen Dean(e) and second Plymouth 16 Sep 1635 to Josiah Cooke. By Stephen Dean(e) she had three children (Plymouth): Elizabeth (c1629), Miriam (c1632) and Susanna (1634). By Josiah Cooke, she had three more children: Anne (1636), Bethiah (c1640) and Josiah (1643).

Susanna Ring was born before 1611 and died Plymouth before 1664. She married Plymouth before 1634 Thomas Clarke and they had seven children (Plymouth): William (c1634), James (c1636), Susanna (c1638), John (c1640), Nathaniel (c1642) and Andrew (c1644).

Third Generation

Elizabeth Deane was born Plymouth about 1629 and died Newtown, PA 28 Dec 1708. She married abt 1652 William Twining (II) and they had seven children (Eastham): Elizabeth (c1649 m. John Rogers), Anna (c1652 m. Thomas Bills), Susanna (1653-1654), William (1654), Joanna (1657 m Thomas Bills), Stephen (1659) and Mehitable (1661 m Daniel Doane)

Miriam Deane was born Plymouth about 1632, she married aft Jan 1693 John Wing (II) and had no children.

Susanna Deane was born Plymouth abt 4 Apr 1634 and died Eastham bef 9 Apr 1701. She married twice, first Eastham 4 Apr 1660 Joseph Rogers (II) (d. soon) and second, Eastham 28 Oct 1663 Stephen Snow. No children by first marriage. By Stephen Snow, Susanna had six children (Eastham): Bathshua (1664 m John King), Hannah (1666 m William Cole), Micajah (1669), Bethia (1672 m John Smith), Mehitable (c1674-p1706 unm.) and Ebenezer (1676).
