[1]William Brownell (II), son of William Brownell and Sarah Smiton, was born Little Compton (now in RI) 11 Aug 1682 and died prob. Little Compton. He married by 1705 Lydia Soule and they had seven children (all but oldest recorded at Dartmouth): Deborah (1705), Rejoice (dau 1707), Sarah (1709), Mary (1712), William (1715/6), Martha (1718/9) and Benjamin (1720 no further record).
Second Generation
[2]William Brownell (III) was born Dartmouth 2 Feb 1715/6 and died Beekman Precinct, NY about 1765. He married New Fairfield, CT 28 Feb 1747/8 Patience Mosher and they had six children: William, Benjamin, Daniel, Deborah, Robert and Joseph
Third Generation
William Brownell was born Dartmouth 23 May 1748 and died Hoosick, NY 3 Mar 1823. He married Hoosick 26 Apr 1778 Judith Nichols and they had at least Jonathan (1792 m Azuba Hicks) and John (1796 m Armenia Manchester).
Benjamin Brownell was born 8 May 1750. He married Mary Ann Russell but it is currently unknown whether they had any children.

We need additional direct male-line descendants of William Brownell to WGS/NGS test to define the haplogroup.
