Previous Y-DNA testing

The Howard (etc.) Y-DNA Project[1] subgroup: R1b - Lineage 05 has one individual who claims George Hayward was their Most Distant Known Paternal Ancestor (MDKPA) and a second individual claiming William Hayward b. 1405 d 1450. No one in this subgroup has undertaken any SNP testing, and FTDNA predicts this group falls under R1b-M269. Two of the individuals in this subgroup have done 111 Y-STR testing. Plugging in these STR values into the Nevgen Haplogroup Predictor gives a 100% probability of it falling under R1b-P312>ZZ11>U152>Z56>BY3548>Z43>Z145.

NGS/WGS testing

Two individuals in the above project have recently taken the Big Y-700 test at Family Tree DNA. These two individuals have been assigned the following haplogroup: R-P312>>U152>>Z43>Z145>BY1823>BY28794>PF6582>PF6577>BY3953>FGC36897>FGC36903>BY3965>BY3957>BY142294>BY144706>BY76408

Further needed testing

We need additional direct male-line descendants of John Hayward to WGS/NGS test to delineate descendant clades.

  1. This project is no longer publicly available. Only project members can view the results.
