First Generation

(Rev.) Ichabod Wiswall [1], son of Thomas Wiswall and Elizabeth Burbage, was born Dorchester 1637 and died Duxbury 23 Jul 1700. He married twice, first 24 Sep 1667 Remember _____ (not known to descend from a Mayflower passenger) and second, Duxbury 24 Dec 1677 Priscilla Pabodie. By his second wife wife he had six children: Mercy (1680), Hannah (1682), Peleg (1683), Perez (1686-1692), Priscilla (1691) and Deborah (1693).

Second Generation

Peleg Wiswall was born Duxbury abt 5 Feb 1683/4 and died Boston 2 Sep 1767. He married Boston 25 Nov 1719 Elizabeth Rogers and they had four children (Boston): Elizabeth (1720), Daniel (1722 unm.), Priscilla (1725) and John (1731).

Third Generation

(Rev.) John Wiswall[2] was born Boston 15 Apr 1731 and died Wilmot, Nova Scotia 2 Dec 1812. He married twice, first Brunswick, ME 31 Dec 1761 Mercy Minot and second Cornwallis, Nova Scotia 9 Feb 1784 Margaret (Jefferson) Hutchinson[1] (no ch.) By his first wife he had five children: Peleg (1763), John (1765), Elizabeth (c1766-1775), Bradstreet (bp1769-1773) and Robert (c1771-1773).

Fourth Generation

(Judge) Peleg Wiswall was born Falmouth, ME 8 Apr 1763 and died Digby, Nova Scotia 18 Sep 1836. He married twice, first 1792 Seraphina Cutler then 1803 Mary Nichols. By his first wife he had at least Mary (1794). It is believed he had no children by his second wife.

John Wiswall was born Brunswick, ME 3 Mar 1765. His further history is currently unknown to the compiler.


Given the above (lack of) information, it is entirely possible where this line has no surviving patrilineal (Y-DNA) descendants.

As of December 28, 2022, Family Tree DNA does not have a Wiswall, etc. DNA Project, but has one kit associated with the Wiswall surname and one kit associated with the Wiswell surname.
