Previous Y-DNA testing

The Webb Surname DNA Project Group: Christopher Webb (grandfather of Peter & Christopher) currently lists seven close STR matches, all claiming Christopher as their most distant known patrilineal (all male line) ancestor (MDKPA). None of them have done any Y-SNP tested and all are predicted (by FTDNA) to fall under R1b-M269. Two of the individuals have done Y-67 STR testing. Plugging in the STR values into the Nevgen Haplogroup prediction tool gives a fairly low prediction (67.24%) of the family falling under R1b-L21>DF13> ZZ10>Z253>Z2534>A16. Other subclades of R1b-P312 are also predicted with extremely low probability. The tool predicted a 32.8% chance of the result falling under an "unsupported clade."

Further needed testing

We need direct male-line Webb descendants to WGS/NGS test to confirm and further refine the haplogroup placement.
