First Generation
Mercy Mendall, daughter of John Mendall[1] was born Marshfield 3 Aug 1666 and died aft 10 May 1711. She married abt 1690 Peter Tinkham and they had four children (prob. Middleborough): Mercy (c1692), Joanna (c1695), Samuel (c1697) and Seth (1704).
Second Generation
Mercy Tinkham was prob. born Middleborough abt 1692 and died there 17 Apr 1723 age 31. She married Middleborough 27 Dec 1716 James Raymond/Rayment and they had two children (Middleborough): Peter (1718) and Mercy (1720 n.f.r.)
Joanna Tinkham was prob. born Middleborough abt 1695 and died there 28 Jun 1738 in 42nd or 43rd year. She married Middleborough 16 Apr 1716 Joseph Bates and they had six children (Middleborough): Joanna (1718), Mercy (1719), Joseph (1721/2), Elizabeth (1722/3 unm.), Thomas (1724) and Priscilla (1726/7 no further record).
Third Generation
Joanna Bates was born Middleborough 28 May 1718 and died shortly aft Jun 1757. She married Middleborough 19 Aug 1735 John Jackson and they had eight children (Middleborough): Mary (bp1736), Susanna (bp1737), Joanna (bp1738/9), Mercy (bp1741 m Caleb Williamson), Priscilla (bp1743 m Isaac Brett), Azuba (bp1745), Lusanna (bp1747) and Content (bp1748).
Mercy Bates was bon Middleborough 8 Aug 1719 and died abt 1770. She married Middleborough 7 Oct 1735 Hezekiah Purrington and they had eleven children (prob. Middleborough): Mercy (bp1737), Hezekiah (bp1739), Joshua (bp1741), Samuel (bp1742/3), John (bp1744), Joseph (bp1746), Nathaniel (bp1749), Seth (bp1751), Eleazer (bp1752), Mary (c1755) and Silvaneus (bp1757).
- ↑ Some sources state John's wife was ____ HEWES Burroughs, widow of Jeremiah Burroughs. If this is correct, then her half-sister Elizabeth Burrowes married Peter Tinkham's brother, Ebenezer Tinkham.
