Previous testing

The Hilton DNA Project subgroup I Haplogroup - Family 04 currently has 13 members who are STR matches to each other. One of the individuals claims William Hilton as their patrilineal ancestor and another lists William's brother, Edward Hilton as their ancestor. In addition, three individuals list various Hilton ancestors in England as their MDKPA. FTDNA predicts they fall under I-P37.

NGS/WGS testing

Two individuals (one descending from William Hilton, the other descending from his brother Edward) have Big Y-700 tested and been found to fall under I-FTA94891. further NGS/WGS testing is needed to find haplogroups separating William Hilton from his siblings (and other close relatives).
