Previous Y-DNA testing

The Baker surname project identifies a small number of descendants of Alexander Baker (supposed father of Samuel). One falls under Haplogroup E, one falls under Haplogroup I, and five fall under Haplogroup R-U106>>BY150757. Samuel has been proven NOT to be a son of Alexander Baker, so it is likely his descendants fall under either Haplogroup E or Haplogroup I.

NGS/WGS testing

Further testing of descendants of William Sherman would confirm an assignment and possibly identify subclades linked to descendants.
