===Previous Y-DNA testing===

Previous Y-STR testing through the Rogers DNA Project has identified a Y-STR haplotype for the ''Mayflower'' Rogers lineage and has determined that the lineage belongs to the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haplogroup_R1b R1b-M269] Y-DNA haplogroup,<ref>http://www.rogersdna.com/geddna/relationship.php</ref> which is quite common in Western Europe. Forthcoming ''Y Elite'' test results will be able to place the place the Rogers lineage more precisely within the broad R1b-M269 clade and identify a number of more recent SNP markers.
