Biography

First Generation

Ralph Paine was born circa 1655 (parentage unknown) and died Freetown abt Dec 1727. He married Newport, RI 1684 Dorithea ___ and they had five children: John (c1685), Thomas (c1691), Joseph, Mary and Sarah

Second Generation

Thomas Paine was born Swansea about 1691 and died Freetown bef 6 Nov 1759. He married twice, first Taunton 21 Feb 1711/2 [[Bucket (mtDNA)#Third Generation |Susanna Haskell] and second Freetown 19 Aug 1731 Anabel Canady[1]. Thomas and his first wife Susanna had seven children: Mercy (1712), Elizabeth (1714), Ralph (1716), Thomas (1719 likely d. young), Patience (1720), Job (1723) and Charles

The Payne DNA Project does not document anyone claiming Ralph Pain as their Most Distant Known Patrilineal Ancestor (MDKPA).[2]
