  • NGS/WGS test multiple descendants of John Keen to place the family clade as well as test descendants to discover any subclades unique to descendants lines

Biography

First Generation

John Keen is said to have been born Checkendon, Oxfordshire, England in 1578, son of Josiah Keen. John married Martha Mey about 1598. They came over with their family in the ship Confidence in Apr 1638. John died at Hingham 14 Nov 1649. He had sons Josiah and John.


Second Generation

Josiah Keen was born about 1620 in London, England and died in Duxbury 15 Sep 1710. He married twice, first abt 1655 to Abigail Little, then bef 1661 to Hannah Dingley. By his first wife, Josiah had a daughter (died young) & Josiah (II). By his second wife, he had seven children, but they do not descend from any Mayflower passengers.

Previous Y-DNA testing

The Keane (etc.) Y-DNA Project does not list any descendants of John Keen of Hingham.

Further needed testing

We need direct male-line descendants of John Keen to WGS/NGS test to refine it further and delineate descendant clades.
