First Generation

Jeremiah Thomas was born Middleborough about 1659, son of David Thomas and Joanna _____. Jeremiah died Middleborough 2 Feb 1736. He married twice, first Barnstable 25 Feb 1784 Lydia Howland and second, Taunton 20 Apr 1720 Mary SANFORD Durfee (no children). By his first wife Jeremiah had eleven children (Middleborough): Nathaniel (1685/6), Sarah (1687), Jeremiah (1688/9), Elizabeth (1690), Mary (1692), Lydia (1694), Thankful (1695), Jedediah (1698), Bethiah (1701), Ebenezer (1703) and Priscilla (1705).

Second Generation

Nathaniel Thomas was born Middleborough 2 Jan 1686 and died aft 1758 (deeded land to sons). He married before 1722 Abigail Ransom and they had five children (Middleborough): Prudence (1722), Nathaniel (1726/7 likely d.y.), John (1728), Seth (1731/2) and Jeremiah (1735/6).

Jeremiah Thomas (II) was born Middleborough 14 Feb 1688/9 and died there 8 Jan 1763. He married Middleborough 12 Dec 1718 Miriam Thomas and they had nine children (Middleborough): Mary (1719-1723), Miriam (1721), Lemuel (1723), Lydia (1725), Martha (1727), Charles (1729), Jeremiah (1731-1733), Sarah (1733/4) and Deborah (1736/7-1747).

Jedediah Thomas was born Middleborough 19 Aug 1698 and died there 20 Dec 1777. He married Middleborough 12 Mar 1723/4 Lois Nelson and they had nine children (Middleborough): Hope (1724), Jedediah (1726/7), Elizabeth (1728/9), Lois (1732), Mercy (1734/5), Abiah (1737), Joanna (1739), Isaac (1742) and Foxwell (1746).

Ebenezer Thomas was born Middleborough 1 Nov 1703 and died bef 7 Oct 1771 (will probated). He married Middleborough about 1731 Anna Ransom and they had seven children (Middleborough): Rachel (1733), Priscilla (1736/7), Ebenezer (1738/9), Mary (1741/2-1747), Thankful (1744/5-1754), Ransom (1747-1747) and Jacob (1749).

Third Generation

John Thomas was born Middleborough 4 Aug 1728 and died Woodstock, VT 2 Dec 1793. He married (int. Middleborough Mar 1752) Mercy Shaw and they had four children (Middleborough): George (1752), Azubah (1754), Hannah (1757) and Nathaniel (176301788 unm.)

Seth Thomas was born Middleborough 8 Feb 1731/2 and died aft 28 Apr 1780 (deeded land to brother). He married Middleborough 18 Dec 1760 Mary Barrows and they had two children (Middleborough): Robert (1761) and Fear (1764).

Jeremiah Thomas was born Middleborough 18 Feb 1735/6 and died there 12 Dec 1798. He married Middleborough 15 Jan 1761 Susannah Thomas and they had six children (Middleborough): Ransom (1762), Jeremiah (1764), Silas (1766), Abraham (1769/70), Elizabeth (1771) and Jacob (1774). Nelson (1759), Churchill (1761), Keziah (1765), Zebedee (1768), Jedediah (1771-1773) and Abiah (1774).

Isaac Thomas was born Middleborough 28 May 1742 and died there 11 Feb 1822. He married Middleborough 3 Jun 1762 Phebe Thomas "3d" and they had six children (Middleborough): Isaac (1763-1763), Ezra (1765), Lois (1767), Lucy (1769), Isaac (1771) and Jedediah (1773).

Foxwell Thomas was born Middleborough 12 Sep 1746 and died New Salem 10 Sep 1829. He married Middleborough 22 Mar 1770 Martha Holmes and they had seven children (Middleborough): Jedediah (1771), Eliab (1773), Martha (1775), Coombs (1777), Foxwell (1780), Jacob (1782) and Lois (1786).

Ebenezer Thomas (II) was born Middleborough 20 Mar 1738/9 and died Windsor, VT 20 Dec 1816. He married Middleborough 5 Nov 1761 Joanna Cushman and they had five children (Middleborough): Susannah (1762), Peleg (1763), Anna (1765), Neheiah (1771-1794 unm) and Elkanah (1771).

Jacob Thomas was born Middleborough 16 Sep 1749 and died there 21 Mar 1796. He married Middleborough 28 Mar 1771 Content Johnson but they had no children.

The one individual in the Thomas surname DNA Project claiming to descend from David Thomas (father of Jeremiah) has taken a Big Y test and has been determined to fall under R1b-P312>>L21>S552>>DF21>S5488>Z16294>BY4001>FT32913> S19938>BY35673>FGC58253 NGS/WGS testing of patrilineal (direct male line Y-DNA descendants) of Jeremiah Thomas would identify the haplogroup for the family and possibly define subclades for descendants.
