Biography

First Generation

(Maj.) James Fitch, son of James (Thomas, George, Roger) Fitch and Abigail Whitefield, was born Saybrook (prob. now Essex), CT 2 Aug 1649 and died Canterbury, CT 10 Nov 1727. He married twice, first Jan 1676 Elizabeth Mason (not descended from a Mayflower passenger) and second Norwich 8 May 1697, Alice Bradford and by this marriage they had seven children: Abigail (1687/8), Ebenezer (1689/90), Daniel (1692/3), Lucy (c1697), Jerusha (1699/1700), Theophilus (c1702) and Jabez (c1703).
