The [https://www.familytreedna.com/public/Copeland?iframe=yresults Copeland Surname Y-DNA Project] Group 02 Has three individuals (STR matching) once claiming descent from Lawrence Copeland (d. 1699 Quincy, father of William). One of the individuals has only 12 YSTR tested, while the other two have only 25 YSTR tested. Family Tree DNA predicts the family to fall under R1b-M269.<ref>WikiTree documents two male Coplelands, both claiming Lawrence Copeland (c1590-1651) as their Most Distant Known Patrilineal Ancestor (MDKPA) through his son "John Joseph {sic} Copeland" of Virginia. However, these individuals have conflicting Haplogroups (E-M35 and R-M198) and neither match the haplogroup predcition of the individual claiming Lawrence Copeland (II) of Braintree.</ref>

As of 20 Oct 2020 Family Tree DNA does not have a Chesebrough (etc.) surname DNA Project, but has 14 kits associated with Chesborough (etc.) surnames.
