Biography
First Generation
(Rev.) Roger Williams] was presumably born in London abt 1606, son of James Williams and Alice Pemberton. He died Providence RI 1 Apr 1683. He married High Laver, Essex 15 Dec 1629 Mary Barnard and they had six children: Mary (1633), Freeborn (dau 1635), Providence (dau 1638), Mercy (1640), Daniel (1641/2) and Joseph (1643).
Second Generation
Daniel Williams was born Providence RI 15 Feb 1641/2 and died there 14 May 1712. He married Providence 2 Dec 1676 Rebecca Rhodes (widow of Nicholas Power) and they had seven children: Mary, Peleg, Roger (1680), Daniel, Patience, Providence (dau) and Joseph.
Joseph Williams was born Providence RI 12 Dec 1643 and died Cranston RI 17 Aug 1724. He married Providence 17 Dec 1669 Lydia Olney and they had: Thomas (1671), Joseph, Lydia, Mary (1676), James (1680) and Providence (dau 1685).

Previous Y-DNA testing
The [1] has three individuals claiming (Rev.) Roger Williams was their Most Distant Known Patrilineal Ancestor (MDKPA) Unfortunately, they are scattered throughout the project. None has Y-SNP tested, but one has taken the Family Finder autosomal test and been found to fall under R1b-U106.
NGS/WGS testing
NGS/WGS testing of patrilineal (direct male line Y-DNA descendants) would identify the haplogroup for the family and possibly define subclades for descendants. Anyone who believe they are Y-DNA descendants of (Rev.) Roger Williams is encouraged to Y-DNA test and email: MayflowerDNA1620@gmail.com
