First Generation

William Palmer's origins are unknown, but since Weston recruited most of the passengers from the London area it is likely he was living in this area at that time (1621). He died between 7-13 Nov 1637. He married twice, first about 1605 Frances ----- (who arrived in Plymouth Colony aboard the Anne in 1623) then by 1637 Mary -----. By his first wife he had four surviving children: Henry (c1606 named in father's will, but no further record), Bridget (c1608), daughter (c1610) and William (c1612). By his second wife he had another William (1634).

Second Generation

William Palmer the elder was born in England about 1612[1] and died Yarmouth bef 25 Aug 1636. He married Plymouth 27 Mar 1634 Elizabeth Hodgkins and they had two children: William (1634/5) and Patience (1636).

William Palmer the younger was born Duxbury 27 Jun 1638 and died Dartmouth bef 30 Jun 1675. He married Plymouth 1663 Susannah Briggs and they had three children: William (c1664), John (1665) and Joseph (1667).

Third Generation

William Palmer (III) was born 27 Jan 1634/5. He married Susanna ____. It is currently Unknown if he had any children.

William Palmer (III) was born Dartmouth abt 1664 and died Little Compton, RI bef Nov 1746. He married Little Compton Feb 1685 Mary Richmond and they had twelve children: William (1686), Elizabeth (1687), Joseph (1689), Susannah (1692), John (1694), Thomas (1697), Mary (1699), Benjamin (1700), Abigail (1702), Patience (1704), Sylvester (1706) and Peleg (1708).

John Palmer was born Little Compton (now in RI) 18 May 1665 and died there 13 Oct 1753. He married twice, first abt 1686 Elizabeth Richmond, then Little Compton 28 Aug 1718 Sarah Blood. By his first wife he had eleven children: John (1687), Sarah (1689), Elizabeth (1691), Edward (1693), Job (1695 m Abigail Simmons), Aaron (1697), Anna (1699), Isaac (1701), William (1703), Esther (1706) and Henry (1709). By his second wife he had three more children: Gideon (1719), Moses (1721) and Simeon (1723).

Joseph Palmer was born Dartmouth abt 1667 and died Little Compton (now in RI) 14 May 1728. He married Sarah _____ but it is currently unknown if they had any children.

  1. There was a William Palmer baptized at London on 11 Feb 1610 who may be this William.

The above project does post their Y-SNP results and it appears the patrilineal descendants of William Palmer fall under R-BY62687 and subclades.
