Biography

First Generation

Mary Durrant was possibly born as early as 1580 and was likely from the Ufford, Suffolkshire, England area. It is likely she married William Ring "of Petistrey" at Ufford on 21 May 1601[1] The family moved to Leiden and possibly attempted to emigrate to the New World on the Speedwell but due to the unseaworthiness of the ship, ended up back at Leiden.[2] William Ring died in Leiden and the widow and her children presumably emigrated to New England aboard the Mayflower[3] in 1629. Mary died at Plymouth on either 15 or 19 Jul 1631.[4]

The children of Mary and William are: Elizabeth bp 23 Feb 1602/3 (likely died young), Elizabeth (say 1609), Susanna (say 1611) and Andrew (c1618).

Second Generation

Elizabeth Ring was likely born about 1609. She married twice, first abt 1627[5] to Stephen Dean(e) and second Plymouth 16 Sep 1635 to Josiah Cooke.

Third Generation
