Biography

First Generation

(Dea.) John Dunham was bp Pirton, Herfordshire 8 Feb 1589 son of Richard and Agness Dunham. He died Plymouth aft 2 Mar 1689. He married twice, first Clophill, Bedfordshire 17 Aug 1612 Susan Kaino then Leiden 22 Oct 1622 Abigail Baillou. They sailed for Plymouth Colony by Dec 1629 when Abigail's brother in Amsterdam reported the family emigrated to America. By his first wife John had three children: John (1614), Humility (c1617) and Thomas (1619 unm.). By his second wife he had nine more children: Samuel (1623), Abigail (1627), Joseph (c1630), Jonathan (c1632), Hannah (c1634), Persis (1635), Benjamin (1637), Benajah (1638) and Daniel (1639/40).

Second Generation

John Dunham (II) bp Leiden 19 Feb 1614 (N.S.) and died aft 6 Apr 1692. He married Barnstable 1642 Mary Porter and they had seven children (Plymouth): Mary (c1642), John (c1647), Jonathan (1650-1650), Samuel (c1652 unm.), Susannah (c1654), Lydia (c1657) and Mercy (c1662).

Samuel Dunham was born Leiden abt 1623 and died Plymouth 20 Jan 1711/2. He married twice, first Plymouth 29 Jun 1649 Martha Beal (widow of William Falloway), then Plymouth 15 Jan 1693/4 widow Sarah Watson (no ch.) By his first wife he had two children (Plymouth): Sarah (1650) and Samuel (1651/2).

Joseph Dunham was born Plymouth abt 1630 and died there bef 31 May 1703. He married twice, first 18 Nov 1657 Mercy Morton then Plymouth 20 Aug 1669 Hester Wormall. By his first wife he had three children (Plymouth): Eleazer (1658), Mercy (1660) and Nathaniel (1665). By his second wife he had five more children (Plymouth): Micajah (1673), Joseph (1675), Benajah (1684), Daniel (1689) and Esther (1690).

(Rev.) Jonathan Dunham was born Plymouth abt 1632 and died Edgartown 18 Dec 1717. He married twice, first Plymouth 29 Nov 1655 Mary Delano (no ch.) then 15 Oct 1657 Mary Cobb. By his second wife he had six children (Plymouth): Jonathan (1658), Eleazer (1662), Hannah (c1668), Samuel (c1668), Gershom (c1672) and Daniel (c1677).

Benjamin Dunham was born Plymouth 18 Nov 1637 and died Taunton 18 Feb 1676. It is currently Unknown whether he ever married.

Benajah Dunham was born Plymouth abt 1639 and died Piscataway, NJ 24 Dec 1680. He married Plymouth 25 Oct 1660 Elizabeth Tilson and they had seven children (first five Eastham, last two Piscataway): Edmund (1661), John (1663), Elizabeth (1664), Hannah (1666), Benjamin (1667), Mary (c1669) and Elizabeth (p1670).

Daniel Dunham was born Plymouth 29 Jan 1638/9 and died there between 28 Jan 1677/8 (will) and 18 Feb 1677/8 (inventory). He married abt 1668 Hannah ____[1] and they had three children: Hannah (c1670), Mehitable (c1672) and Daniel (1676).
