Biography
First Generation
(Dea.) John Done (later Doane) was born England abt 1590[1] date, place and parentage currently unknown. He died Eastham 21 Feb 1685[/6]. He married twice, first Ann ____ then by 1 Apr 1659 Lydia ____ (no ch.) By his first wife he had five children: Lydia (c1625), Abigail (c1631), John (c1635), Daniel (c1637) and Ephraim (c1642).
Second Generation
John Doane (II) was born Plymouth abt 1635 and died Eastham 15 Mar 1707/8. He married twice, first Eastham 30 Apr 1662 Hannah Bangs then Eastham 14 Apr 1684 Rebecca Pettee (no ch.) By his first wife he had eight children (Eastham): John (1662/3-1663), John (1664), Ann (1666), Rebecca (1668), Hannah (1669), Isaac (1670), Samuel (1673) and David (c1675).
(Dea.) Daniel Doane was born Plymouth abt 1637 and died Eastham bef 26 Sep 1712.[2] He married twice, first abt 1665 Constance ____[3] then Eastham aft 28 Jun 1682 Hepzibah COLE Crisp (widow of George Crisp). By his first wife he had eight children (Eastham): Daniel (1666), Constant (son 1669), Joseph (1669), Constance (1670/1), Israel (son c1672), Rebecca (c1672), Nathaniel (1680) and Abigail (c1682). By his second wife he had two more children (Eastham): Hepzibah (1683) and Ruth (c1690).
Ephraim Doane was born Plymouth abt 1642 and died Eastham abt 19 Apr 1700. He married twice, first 5 Feb 1667/8 Mercy Knowles, then Eastham aft 20 Apr 1692 Mary SMALLEY Snow (widow of John Snow) (no ch.) By his first wife he had eight children (Eastham): Patience (1668-1675), Apphia (1670), Hezekiah (1672), Thomas (1674), Ebenezer (1676), Nehemiah (1680-1684), Patience (1682) and Ruhamah (1685).

Previous Y-DNA testing
The Doane DNA Project Group: "I2a2b-L39 Plymouth, MA" contains a significant number of individuals. The project currently does not list the Most Distant Known Patrilineal Ancestor (MDKPA) but it is believed most members of this group are patrilineal descendants of (Dea.) John Done.
