First Generation

Joseph Williams, son of John Williams and Jane ___ was born Haverhill 18 Apr 1647 and died Norwich, CT 4 Jan 1721. He married Haverhill 18 Nov 1674 Mary Fuller and they had four children before they moved to Norwich. Sarah (1675), Mary (1677), John (1679/80) and Hannah (1683).

Second Generation

John Williams was born Haverhill 17 Feb 1679/80 and died Preston, CT 11 Jan 1742. He married Norwich, CT abt 1712 Mary Knowlton and they had five children: Mary (c1713), Benjamin (c1715-1732 unm.), Joseph (c1718-c1719), Zipporah (c1720) and Joseph (1723).

Third Generation

(Capt.) Joseph Williams was born Norwich, CT 23 Apr 1723 and died Brattleboro, VT 16 Jan 1776. He married twice, first Norwich 4 Mar 1742 Hannah Lathrop and second North Stonington 20 Feb 1746 Eunice Wheeler. By his first wife he had two children: John (1743 d.y.) and Hannah (1744). By his second wife he had fifteen more children: John (1746/7 m Abigail Phelps), William Wheeler (1748-1750), Frederick (1749-1776 likely unm.), Mary (1751), Joseph (1753 m Abigail Coit), Eunice (1754), Zipporah (1756), Benjamin (1758), William Wheeler (1760 m Ruth Granger), Isaac (1761), Charlotte (1763 d.y.), Alexander (1764 d.y.), Lucy (1766 d.y.), Jerahmeel (1767) and Martha "Patty" (1769).

Previous Y-DNA testing

The Williams surname DNA Project does not list anyone claiming John Williams of Haverhill was their Most Distant Known Patrilineal Ancestor (MDKPA).

Further testing needed
