First Generation
George Young[1] was born about 1643 and died Scituate in 1672. He married 15 Jan 1661 Hannah PinsonCite error: Closing </ref> missing for <ref> tag Justis (1811), Harriet (1813), Job (1816) and James (1818).
Ezekiel Young was born Scituate 22 Jun 1731 died there 10 Feb 1814. He married 1755 Lusanna White (also a William White descendant) and they had eight children (Scituate): Joseph (1755), Lydia (1758), Gideon (bp1763), Christopher (1764), Stephen Fullerton (1769), Ebenezer Scott (1770), Joanna White (1776) and William (1779).
Joshua Young was born Scituate abt 1742. He married bef 1772 Celia Little (descendant of Alden, Bradford, Doty and Warren) and they had twelve children: Alice Baker (1772), Elizabeth Cudworth (1775-1777), Celia (1777), Betsey (1780), Joshua (1782), Patience (1785), Ephraim (1787), Peabody (1789-1792), infant (1791-1791), Zynthia (1793-1795), Emily (1795) and Peabody (1798).
- ↑ Some sources state George was son of John Young and Abigail Howland (daughter of Henry Howland, brother to Pilgrim John Howland). However the Young surname DNA Project documents where John Young falls under R1B-M269 Group 4 while George Young falls under R1B-M269 Group 15 and their Y-STR markers are too diverse to be related. While George likely was born in Plymouth Colony, his parentage has not been discovered.

Previous Y-DNA testing
Young DNA Project Subgroup R1b M269 Group 15 has four males tested, one claiming George Young 1640-1673 was their Most Distant Known Patrilineal Ancestor (MDKPA). None of the four have done any Y-SNP testing and two of them have done Y-67 STR testing (However, there appears to be another individual who has done Y-111 STR testing). Plugging in the 111Y-STR values into the Nevgen Haplogroup Prediction tool (set to predict R1b haplogroups) gives a 57.38% probability of the family falls under the U106>Z2265>S19589 clade.
Further needed testing
We need additional direct male-line descendants of Thomas Young to WGS/NGS test to both confirm the lineage as well as to refine the haplogroup further and delineate descendant clades.
