(Capt.) Christopher Jones is believed to have been born Harwich, Essex about 1570, son of Christopher and Sybil Jones. He was married twice, first St. Nicholas, Harwich 27 Dec 1593 Sara Twitt then St. Nicholas, Harwich 1603 Josian (Thompson) Gray. By his first wife he had one child, Thomas (bur. 1596). By his second wife he had eight children (first three born Harwich, next four at Rotherhithe and youngest back at Harwich): Christopher (1604), Thomas (1607), Josian (1609), Roger (1611), Christopher (1613), Joane (1615), Grace (1619) and John (1621).
