Biography
First Generation
Samuel Smith was baptized at Hingham 11 Jul 1641, son of Ralph Smith and his (Unknown) first wife]. Samuel died Eastham 27 Mar 1696/7. He married Eastham 3 Jan 1665/6 Mary Hopkins and they had six children (born Eastham): infant son (1667), Samuel (1668), Mary (1669/70), Joseph (1671-1692 unm), John (1673), Grace (1676-1691) and Rebecca (1678).
Second Generation
Samuel Smith (II) was born Eastham 26 May 1668 and died there 22 Sep 1692. He married Eastham 26 May 1690 Bershuah Lothrop and they had two children (born Eastham): Samuel (1690/1) and Joseph (16692).
John Smith was born Eastham 26 May 1673 and died Chatham 25 Feb 1717/8. He married Eastham 14 May 1694 Bethiah Snow and they had ten children (born Eastham): James (1694/5-1696), Samuel (1696), Dean (1698), Mercy (c1700), Mary (1702), John (1703), Stephen (1706), Bethiah (1708), David (1711 unk if marr) and Seth (1713).

Previous testing
The Smith Connections of the Northeast Group: R1b-NE08 Ralph Smith has eight individuals with a Most Distant Known Paternal Ancestor (MDKPA) being Ralph Smith (father of Samuel). Two of these individuals descend from Samuel Smith and one individual has a Big Y test which documents their line falls under Haplogroup: R1b-U106>Z2265>BY30097>S12025>FGC12021>S17339>FGC53777>S25007>FGC31905>FGC31914>FT266024
NGS/WGS testing
NGS/WGS testing of other known Ralph Smith Y-DNA descendants (especially through son Samuel) would refine the haplogroup for the family and possibly define subclades for descendants.
