First Generation
Edward Gray was born, presumably in England, about 1629 and died "last of June 1681" "aged about 52 years"[1]- ↑ photo of gravestone He was married twice, first 16 Jan 1651 to Mary Winslow (died 1663) and second, 12 Dec 1665 to Dorothy Lettice. The children by his second marriage are not descended from any Mayflower passenger. Edward had five children by his first marriage; four daughters and son John.

Previous Y-DNA testing
The Gray/Grey surname DNA Project has two conflicting subgroups both claiming to fall under Edward Gray. The First subgroup falls under 1.1.1.1.. R1b M173>M343>M269>P312>Z290>L21 >DF13>Z39589>Z251>16943>BY23665 (Edward Gray b. 1623 of Plymouth Colony- but See Z2186) has five individuals while the second group 1.1.1.1.1 R1b M173>M343>M269>P312>Z290>L21>DF13>ZZ10>Z253>Z2186 (Edward Gray b. 1623 of Plimouth Colony-but See Z251) only has one individual.
Further needed testing
More information and analysis is needed to identify which group correctly has Edward Gray and his Y-DNA descendants.
