Thomas Tayer[1] was baptized Thornbury, Gloucestershire, England 16 Aug 1596, son of Richard Tayer and Ursula Dimery. He married there 13 Apr 1618 Margery Wheeler. They had nine children: Ursula (d. young), Wilfrey (d. young), Thomas, Fernando, Ursula, infant, Shadrach, Mary & infant. The family emigrated to New England in 1637 aboard the Speedwell.
Second Generation

Fernando Thayer was baptized at Thornbury 18 Apr 1625 and died at Mendon 28 Mar 1713. He married twice: Huldah Hayward & Anna _____. By his first wife he had twelve children: Sarah, Huldah, Jonathan, Naomi, Isaac, Thomas, Samuel, Josiah, Ebenezer, Benjamin, David & (son) Israel.
Shadrach Thayer was baptized at Thornbury 10 May 1629 and died at Braintree 19 Oct 1678. He married twice, first to Mary Barrett, then Deliverance Priest. By first wife, he had Rachel (d. young) & Tryall. By his second wife he had eight children: Freelove (d. young), Samuel, Timothy (d. young), Samuel, Ephraim (1670), Hannah (d. young), William & Hannah.

Fourth Generation
Cornelius Thayer was born Mendon 14 Dec 1723 and died Western (now Warren) 23 Oct 1790. He married Bellingham 24 Dec 1747 Abigail Jones and they had seven children: Jonas (1750), Jonathan (1753 m Martha Smith), Abigail (1755), Cornelius (1757 m Asenath Bradley), Amos (1760), Hannah (1763) and Elizabeth (1765).
(Rev.) Ezra Thayer was born Bellingham 28 Apr 1733 and died Ware 12 Feb 1775. He married Stockbridge 17 Sep 1761 Judith Williams and they had four children: Abigail (1763), Elizabeth (1765), Sarah (1766) and Enoch Williams (1768).
Micah Thayer was born Bellingham 29 Jun 1741 and died Ware 4 Jan 1777. He married Mendon 17 Nov 1763 Lois Thayer and they had at least three children: Jedediah (1764 m Rachel Adams), Rhoda (1767) and Violatra (1773).
Ephraim Thayer (II) was born Braintree 8 Jul 1694 and died there bef 18 Feb 1780. He married Braintree 1 Apr 1718 Mary Copeland and they had at least five children: Ephraim (1720-1720), Mehitable (1722-1731), Mary (1725), William (1727-1731) and Ephraim (1730-1731).
Philip Thayer was born Braintree 14 Apr 1696 and died Norton 3 Nov 1758. He married Braintree 1 Apr 1718 Mary Wilson and they had seven children: Sarah (1719), Elisha (1721 m Anne Grover), Philip (1724 d.y.), John (1725 m Rachel Skinner), Ephraim (c1726 d.y.), Elisha (c1728) and Christopher (1732 m Bathsheba Skinner).
Joseph Thayer was born Braintree 28 Jul 1699 and died there 8 Jan 1778. He married twice, first Braintree 16 Dec 1725 Sarah Faxon and second Braintree 16 Nov 1738 Eunice Ludden. By his first wife he had: Joseph (1727 m Zilpha Lane), Sarah (1728-1730), Mehitable (1730), Sarah (1732), Abigail (1733) and Mehitable (1735-1736). By his second wife he had: Huldah (1739), Reuben (1741 m Sarah Linfield), Timothy (1743-1749), Eunice (1745), Betty (1747-1749), Timothy (1748) and Betty (1751-1752).
Shadrack Thayer was born Braintree 18 Apr 1701 and died there 17 Feb 1783. He married Braintree 2 May 1723 Rachel White and they had four children: Uriah (1724 m Deborah Copeland), Jonathan (1726 m Dorcas Hayden), Noah (1727 m Margaret Harmon) and Rachel (1730).
Christopher Thayer was born Braintree 4 Mar 1702/3 and died Peterborough 10 Dec 1787. He married Norton 29 Sep 1735 Mary Morse and they had nine children: William (1738), Sarah (1738), Christopher (1741 m Bethiah Hunt), Mary (1743), Amos (1745), Abigail (1747), Elizabeth (1749), Ruth (1752) and Susannah (1755).

The Thayer Families Project Group: G1 - Thomas currently has fifteen related males, thirteen claiming patrilineal (all male line) descent from Thomas1Thayer. Some have done at least some level of Y-SNP testing with the family falling under: P312>Z290>L21>DF63

Two individuals in the project have taken the Big Y-700 test which revealed they fall under R-L21>S552>DF63>FT91736>BY28644>BY42307.
