John Lyford] was born about 1575 in England, ancestry and location unknown. It is known the family came over to New Plimoth in 1624. Charles E. Banks believed the ship he emigrated on was called the ''Charity.'' Rev. John's will was dated 9 Feb 1629/30 at Shirley Hundred, Virginia and he died by the summer of 1631. Rev. John married bef 1615 Sarah _____ and they had five children:&lt;ref&gt;A deposition by wife Sarah indicated where her husband had a bastard child before marriage, but this child (who lived with the couple) must have died before the family emigrated to the New World.&lt;/ref&gt; Obadiah (by 1615), Ann (c1622-1639 unm), Ruth (c1623), Mordecai (1624) and Martha (c1650).<br /> <br /> ===Second Generation===<br /> [https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lyford-628 Obadiah Lyford] was born bef 4 Nov 1615 as he matriculated at University of Oxford 4 Nov 1631, aged 16.
