James Burroughs was born abt 1650 and died prob. in Bristol (now in RI) aft 10 Oct 1699. He married twice, first Hingham 8 Dec 1674 [[Elizabeth Walker (mtDNA)#Second Generation|Sarah Church]] and second abt 1693 Anne/Ame ____.<ref>While James had one son by his second wife, the child was not descended from a Mayflower passenger.</ref> By his first wife, James had four children: James (1677-1687), Mary (1679), Elizabeth (d. 1699) and Thomas (1685).

Thomas Burroughs was born Bristol (now in RI) 12 Jul 1685 and died prob. Newport, RI 16 Dec 1722. He married abt 1706 Abigail ____<ref>After Thomas' death, Abigail married William Toppin.</ref> and they had six children: William (c1707-1767 likely unm.), Freelove (c1709), Samuel (c1712), Mary (c1714), Benjamin (c1716-1740 unm.) and Peleg (c1722).
