Paper trail

First Generation

John Irish was born abt 1611 in Clifden, Somersetshire, poss. son of Jonathan Irish & Elizabeth Kirby.[1] He died Duxbury bef 5 Mar 1677/8. He married by 1644 Elizabeth ____ and they had three known children: Elizabeth (c1644), John (c1647) and Elias (c1649).

Second Generation

John Irish (II) was born Duxbury abt 1647 and died Little Compton (now in RI) abt 21 Feb 1717. He married twice, first Little Compton abt 1668 Elizabeth Thurston, then Little Compton 1 May 1708 Priscilla Southworth, widow of Samuel Talbot (no ch.) By his first wife he had eleven children: John (1669), David (c1673), Elizabeth (1674/5 d.y.), Jonathan (1678), Joanna (1681), Sarah (1683), Priscilla (1686), Elizabeth (1687), Jedediah (1688), Content (dau 1691) and Mary (1695).

Elias Irish was born Duxbury abt 1649 and died Taunton in 1677. He married Taunton 26 Aug 1674 Dorothy Witherell but only had one daughter: Rebecca (1675 m Jonathan Greenell, but no ch.)

Third Generation

John Irish (III) was born Little Compton 1 May 1669 and died there abt 1 Jul 1773. He married Little Compton 10 May 1720 Thankful Wilbore and they had twelve children:

David Irish was born Little Compton 1673

Jonathan Irish was born Little Compton 6 Jun 1678.

Jedediah Irish was born Little Compton 7 Oct 1688
